well hello parents and students so this is mr. Meyers and was not a long spring break we just had a well I Tisha Brixton pre AP Physics high school I'm about to start my 16th year at Elkhart I had even the occasional Miss Phillips for example I had as a student back when she was Katie may I have it right now this is going to be my year teaching overall I'm a graduate from Jacksonville High School I went to college to get my 4C degree at Stevens and I got my Master's in education from University of Texas Arlington I enjoy science because I like learning about the world and they and how things work and I tell you the last few months have been a good lesson that even if you don't care about science science cares about you natural world shut it on and you're involved in it whether you like it or not as to what physics is a former student of mine who's currently working for the power company used in Southern New Jersey right now shut up no one wants the news working on putting a power lines after the last hurricane that went up there and his dad came by during the paradise back of the old classroom Miguel when we used to have parent night a few weeks into the school year and his dad asked me said before I could utter a word work bubbles out of my mouth his son said well Dad gets Math and Science had a baby keep telling no one that I'm going to make a poster and put it on a wall with no one Circa 2007 I would have Noah that is true I mean there is some a thin if you know the case well math is universal language it's a way of describing things in a way that's not going to be misconstrued among other languages you know someone in China that one thing and one thing or two things someone from Alpha Centauri would know that one thing and one thing or two things so less ambiguous and what physics is the most basic is a famous quote of his where was all things are either physics or stamp collecting maybe it was a little bit too harsh there but basically if you want to if you're studying science the only one that tells you the in his opinion that tells you the truths of work is physical thing off of putting things away bosses in categories of naming different kinds of an physics how things move and why things move it is very basic and that we talked about how a bullet travels how how gravity works how things have weight how white spaceship likely the recent Dragon rocket you know that SpaceX launch how that was able to to get into orbit what orbit means that kind of thing why a motorcycle is is more stable and swing fast as opposed to lasted until the red light try standing up on a unicycle without moving for a bicycle for that matter now you got to have to rock it back with well physics in a nutshell I tell you about the most basic nature of the universe how things Cedar Rapids weather without physical push and pull forces between you don't have molecules heck you don't have Adam and without molecules if they don't have chemistry certainly don't have complex chemistry which which well is are his gasoline what Shop hours are cars and gives me a person that job out there or for life itself and what so that in a nutshell you know I'm a long time veteran of Elkhart I like working with with kids with the people on I like the subject I like to learn in general you ever so I think function I was the guy that wanted to know why wasn't chick so what it's going to be a wacky yeah year but that will all enjoy the adventure together I guess far as Pacific items other than usual stuff and regular physics I just a cop book for warm-ups in createtv.com book again plus and creepy to the need to be able to Scientific calculations with scientific Twitter even if that's an app on a phone to be able to do things at the house especially since you know what the issues we have going on and I've got high we won't be able to check if you know chocolate is out till after being wiped down and all that well my first time using a webcam hopefully happy Friday and again I'm just your mind and I look forward to seeing your child on Thursday at 4 to it angered some people out there cuz I can buy in Star Trek and Star Wars take care let's see if see if I'm hitting the right button here
