RESEARCH A FAMOUS LOGO DESIGN

A logo has been assigned to you. You may not switch with anyone.  

ASSIGNMENT:

  • Research everything you can about this logo.
  • Write a 3 to 4 paragraph essay exploring the history and analysis of the logo on your new blog.
  • Present your information to the class Friday in a 3-5 minute presentation.
  • Check your writing for spelling and grammatical errors.
  • Site the websites you got your information from.   


You MUST answer the following questions:

  • What is this a logo of? Example: Ferrari's logo is of a horse rearing
  • Describe the logo using the Elements and Principles of Design (line, shape color, texture, size, value, contrast, emphasis, unity, movement rhythm, and balance) .
  • What company/organization is this logo for? Describe what they do or stand for.
  • Who designed it? When? What else is this designer known for?
  • Has the design changed over time? How?
  • You must have a picture of the logo on your post. Preferably a picture of the development of a logo through the years.

(You do not have to answer all of these questions, but they will help flesh out your narrative of the logo)  

 

  • What fonts are used in its design?
  • Is there text that is used with this logo?
  • How many color variations are there?
  • What feelings or emotions does this logo evoke?
  • Is it masculine or feminine?
  • What sizes does it come in? Does it look better small or big?
  • Where is it used?
  • How is it used?
  • Is it easily recognizable?
  • Do you think it is famous?
How many times have you seen it in your lifetime? Where have you seen it used?

1) Reflect on your school year.
2) Write a short phrase or quote about something you learned this year or find a famous quote that inspires you.
3) Download some cool fonts from Dafont.com.
4) In Photoshop or Illustrator create a 8.5X11 Typographic poster with that quote.
