Culinary and Economics Teacher

Hello everyone!  This is my first year at Elkhart High School and I am thrilled to be part of the Elkhart ISD family.  This is my 19th year to teach. I have taught 14 years of Family and Consumer Science and four at the middle school level teaching reading.
I graduated high school in Dallas and have both a Bachelors and Masters degree in Family and Consumer Science from Texas A&M Commerce.  I am also certified to teach English Language Arts and Reading in grades 4-8.
My passions are God, family, and teaching.  My hobbies are cooking and reading.  I love animals of all kinds and have 3 dogs, 2 shih tzus and a pit bull mix. Two of my babies are rescues.  The third is a 19 year old cranky old man!
I have been married 32 years to the love of my life, Danny.  He has also been in education for 33 years. We have two sons, Aaron and Zachary.  They are both married to terrific young ladies .  Aaron is a mental health clinician at TDC in Rusk and part time youth leader in his church.  Zach is a academic advisor at Tyler Jr. College.  Both boys are Eagle Scouts .  Aaron and his wife are expecting our first grandchild in February!!!
I am looking for to an exciting school year of learning with the greatest students ever. Please contact me anytime with any questions or concerns you may have.
