A Little Bit About Me

I am super excited to be teaching Financial Math again this year. There is no other math that prepares students for the real world. This is my eighth year teaching at Elkhart and my twenty-fifth year of teaching math. I have taught everything from sixth grade through Calculus. I am married and have four children. My husband, Mr. Phelps, retired from Elkhart Junior High eight years ago. This year I am also teaching Algebraic Reasoning. I truly enjoy teaching math that students will use in everyday life!

I try to live by example from Philippians 2:3-4  -  Do nothing out of selfish ambition or vain conceit. Rather, in humility consider others better than yourself. Look not only at your own interests but the interest of others.
