I am originally from Flower Mound, TX (a suburb of DFW), where I attended a high school bigger than the town of Elkhart--so this is a bit of a culture shock for me! It is both my first year at Elkhart High School and my first year teaching. But fear not...I do know what I'm doing! I graduated from Texas A&M University in 2016 with my Bachelor of Science in Psychology with minors in English and Neuroscience and will complete my Master of Education in Curriculum and Instruction in May. While in college, I tutored college athletes, worked as a writing consultant, substitute taught in Bryan ISD, and taught ESL to adult English Language Learners. I live with my husband in Palestine (which beats living in the metroplex), where I enjoy playing piano and trombone, writing stories, and reading anything that has words in my all-but nonexistent spare time. I am especially known for having a bunch of nearly impossible goals, such as reading every Newbery Medal book, learning three foreign languages, and visiting every national park in the United States. I look forward to meeting the students and families at Elkhart and enjoying everything this great district has to offer.
